Calvin Harris' fiancée Vick Hope is currently one of the frontrunners to take over hosting Love Island after Laura Whitmore has stepped down.
Maya Jama is also another top contender to take over the presenting slot, as The Sun reported that she is being considered alongside Vick, 32, by ITV bosses for the role to bring a 'cooler edge' to the show. Laura, 37, announced earlier this week that she would not be returning for the next season of Love Island due to 'difficulties'.
A source told OK! that: "Laura wasn’t having a good time by the end. She’s moving on from TV, she’s looking forward to having a change, it was a lot for her in the end." The mum-of-one took to Instagram to announce the news, citing difficulties with show's "format" and "new conflicting projects" and admitted that she anticipated to host only one series after replacing Caroline Flack in December 2019.
In terms of who could be stepping into Laura's shoes, the source added: "It will likely be a diverse booking in terms of the next host. Vick Hope could be in the running.”
A TV source added to The Sun, speaking of the current frontrunners Maya, 28, and Vick: 'They're viewed as two glamorous, fun figures who would also bring a slightly cooler edge to the format. Over the past three years they've both seen their careers go from strength to strength, and have the high profile to match that of the hit ITV show. It's going to be a close call who ITV bosses will pick in the end.'
Vick has hosted the Capital Breakfast show in London along with Roman Kemp and Sonny Jay since 2017 and also fronts her own ITV show Vick Hope’s Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings. The BBC broadcaster has found love this year with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, as the two got engaged after a whirlwind romance.
The couple are said to be planning an Ibiza wedding as the island has become such a special place for them. The Acceptable In The 80s singer is believed to have popped the question under his favourite tree at his Ibiza farm in an early May proposal.
"Calvin proposed to Vick under his favourite tree on his farm Terra Masia in Ibiza," an insider has told The Sun. "Vick said yes immediately, she is madly in love with Calvin and could not be any happier. She has been wearing her ring for weeks now but no one really noticed.
"Of course her Radio 1 colleagues spotted it immediately and it's been an open secret there. Everyone is so happy for her. Vick has been telling people they are going to be getting married in Ibiza. It's a really special place for them both now and where they want to spend their lives together.
"Vick's mum is helping her to plan the wedding and they're already putting together mood boards and plans. It was a shock for some people because it happened so quickly but it is obvious how happy they make each other."
A second source said: "Calvin was flying Vick out to Ibiza on his private jet. It was all very romantic and he really laid out the red carpet. Calvin has found the one in Vick."
