A young Scots woman was kicked out of Calvin Harris' gig at Hampden Park on Saturday after she was accused of taking cocaine when a security guard spotted her suffering from a bad nosebleed.
Jess Napier, from Edinburgh, claims the security guard told her that she would have to leave after assuming that she was under the influence of drugs and escorted her off the premises without even giving her a chance to prove she was sober. G4S, who were managing the event's safety, have confirmed that they will investigate the incident if Jess contacts them.
The 20-year-old is struck by regular nosebleeds, sometime as much as three times-a-day, an issue which is currently under investigation by NHS Lothian.
Jess says she was left 'shocked and upset' that instead of being given any medical assistance, she was turfed out of the stadium and left alone and separated from her friends, while covered in blood as she tried to tend to her nose bleed.
She told the Record: "I had been standing on the pitch with my friends when I went to the toilet when the second support act was on. When I was there I had a nosebleed, something I am prone to getting in the last six months, so I'm in the middle of doing tests at hospital.
"When I came out of the toilet a security guard asked if I was ok and then said I was going to have to leave. He said that I had clearly been taking drugs. I just didn't know what to think or say. I was in such a panic that I really had to hold back the tears."
Jess was attending her first-ever Calvin Harris gig with three friends and with no public transport available, had volunteered to be the designated driver for the group.
After getting kicked out of Hampden at 6.40pm, she had to wait several hours for her friends to come out after the gig as she couldn't make contact them due to lack of signal.
The trainee McDonald's manager continued: "The security guard could clearly see I was sober. I had not been drinking and I've never taken any drugs in my life, so I was quite taken aback.
"I did see people about with nose bleeds and I'm aware that you can get them from taking cocaine, so I get it must be hard to manage but I did not really get the chance to prove that it wasn't drugs.
"I would have been happy to take a drugs test, but they just told me to get out without even giving me any medical assistance. There was no regard to my safety.
"I've wasted £62 on a concert I didn't even get to see and this was a one-off gig that Calvin Harris was doing so it was special. I'm a big fan but I've never got to see him before as I was too young when he used to do T in the Park!
A G4S spokesperson said: "We take complaints very seriously and we would urge the individual involved to get in contact, so that we can investigate."
