Fulham are closing in on an £18million move for Ajax defender Calvin Bassey.
Bassey is set to undergo a medical at Craven Cottage and Fulham are confident of securing a deal for the 23-year-old.
It is unclear whether the deal for Bassey will mean Fulham cool their interest in Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu.
Fulham also had a £15m bid accepted for Salisu but may now deem Bassey enough in the centre-back position.
Raul Jimenez has signed a two-year contract at Fulham, with an option for another season, after agreeing a £5.5m move to Craven Cottage from Wolves.
Jimenez is not considered as a replacement for Aleksandar Mitrovic and Fulham will look to sign another striker if their Serb talisman joins Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.
Fulham have also agreed personal terms with Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi but have not reached his £10m asking price set by the Blues.
Fulham hope to find a compromise on a fee for Hudson-Odoi, with a solution also needed to pay the last year of his contract worth over £120,000-a-week.
Marco Silva is also targeting a new a full-back this summer and has had a £3.5m bid accepted for AC Milan’s Fode Ballo-Toure. Silva has options, however, and is taking time to decide amid rival interest in Ballo-Toure from Bologna, Nice and Werder Bremen.
Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters is an alternative but would cost more than £15m.
