Callum Wilson underlined what was missing from Newcastle United's performance against West Ham after the Magpies were held at home.
United have now drawn four of their last five Premier League games but still sit in the Champions League places in the top-flight. But Wilson was left to rue a tricky day at St James' Park.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Wilson said: "We stopped doing the things which brought us success, losing 50/50 duels, not pressing so efficiently. Second half was better, but we couldn't break them down.

"Today was frustrating. The second half we had the majority of the ball, it was frustrating to let them back in."
But the draw came in a week in which Newcastle have reached their first major cup final since 1999 and with the emotions of the semi-final win over Southampton a factor, Wilson said: "For us, as a team we knew today would be difficult, we had to come out mentally in a positive place.
"When you've got a final looming over you, it is up to us to get crowd going again. "We did that, but then tailed off."
Wilson scored after just three minutes after Sean Longstaff's fine pass through the centre and could have had a second after the break when new boy Anthony Gordon played him in.
Wilson added: "As a striker, you're itching to get on the scoresheet again. "Unbelievable pass, there was only one thing on my mind."
