Callum Wilson has reflected on Newcastle United's emphatic win over Aston Villa after bagging twice in front of Gareth Southgate.
The Magpies stayed in fourth place in the Premier League and kept pace with the big boys as Villa were blown away. Newcastle shrugged off the wet and miserable conditions to put smiles on fans faces.
Wilson, speaking to Match of the Day, said after the game: "It was a great performance. For 35 minutes we were slow and were not really ourselves. It was becoming frustrating. In the second half we blew them away.

"To be honest I was frustrated (when hitting the bar) It just wasn't going to happen. Nevertheless we got the three points. I got two goals and one assist. I will take that."
When asked about Newcastle's position, Wilson reacted: We don't get carried away. We have to keep this form going. It was a fantastic club when I first joined but my first few games was in lockdown and I had no fans."
When asked about his England chances, Wilson added: "I have said many times I will not talk my way into the squad. I will let my performances do the talking."
