Callum Wilson blow as leaked England team suggests key Gareth Southgate decision for USA clash

Gareth Southgate is expected to name an unchanged England XI to face the United States of America this evening. The news comes as a welcome surprise after Harry Kane was a doubt earlier this week.

England's talisman picked up a knock in the resounding 6-2 win over Iran, and was sent for a scan on his ankle. The Tottenham striker took part in training this week, despite the early concern with the Three Lions looking to advance through to the next round, if results go their way.

The news comes as a blow for Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson who was first in line to replace Kane. The Magpies striker came off the bench to set-up Jack Grealish for England's sixth goal in the opening game of Group B and has been in fine form for Eddie Howe's side this season.

A win against Gregg Berhalter's side this evening and a draw between Iran and Wales this morning would secure England's passage into the knockout stages - topping the group. This would see the Three Lions take on the runners-up in Group A on December 4, at 7pm.

Jordan Pickford is expected to maintain his place between the sticks, with a back four consisting of Newcastle's Kieran Trippier, John Stones, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. Jude Bellingham, Mason Mount and Declan Rice will make up the midfield trio having started the tournament in fine fashion.

Raheem Sterling and Bukayo Saka are expected to maintain their places either side of Kane.

Expected England XI: Pickford; Trippier, Stones, Maguire, Shaw; Rice, Bellingham Mount; Sterling, Kane, Saka.
