Callum McGregor has still been throwing his weight around in the changing room - but Cameron Carter-Vickers has been a more than able Celtic deputy.
The Hoops centre-back has been picked for the USA ahead of their World Cup campaign kicking off later this month after stellar form under Parkhead boss Ange Postecoglou. He has been the skipper with McGregor out injured and while they differ in styles, midfielder David Turnbull says they both bring a unique energy to Celtic.
He explained after Wednesday's 2-1 win over former club Motherwell: "Cal is maybe a wee bit more vocal before games or whatever, but sometimes it’s not about that. The way he (Carter-Vickers) carries himself on the pitch is an example to everyone else. We’ve got a lot of big characters in the changing room when Cal’s not there. He’s still chipping in with wee bits before games and after games.

"But Cameron has done brilliantly to step in. It’s a tough thing to do and he’s handled it well. I'm delighted for him. I thought he would have been picked, he’s been a mainstay in our team.
"You see how well he has done, and since he has had the captain’s armband I think he has taken it to another level. He’s a rock at the back.
"Hopefully, he can go there and make a good impact. Ever since he has come in he has been very reliable, played most games, and he’s been solid for us."
