Callum McGregor was delighted to end his recent injury woes by scoring the winner for Celtic against Aberdeen this afternoon.
The Hoops captain struck late with a fine finish from the edge of the box to secure all three points for Ange Postecoglou's men.
It was a much deserved three points for the totally dominant visitors.
Kelle Roos kept the Dons in the game until 86-minutes when CalMac's strike flew into the bottom corner across the keeper.
And while the captain was thrilled to score, he was just happy to be back involved following a spell of around two-months out of action.
He told Sky Sports: "It was great to come back into the team and score the winner.
“I thought we were outstanding to be honest. We really dominated the game, played out football, created lots of chances.
“It maybe didn’t drop quite as much as it normally does but to go all the way to the end again and get the winner tells you what’s in that changing room in terms of character and spirit.
“Jamesy sees the picture on the inside, he just puts his foot on the ball and I get a touch and hit it.
“I think as soon as I hit it I knew it was in so it was just great.
“That’s what you always try to do (get right involved). You want to help the team and I play that position where you normally get a lot of the ball.
“It was important for me to come back in and get up to speed as quickly as I could so I could help the team.
“The boys have done magnificently well when I was away. They got the results.”
The skipper was then asked how hard it was to watch his teammates from the sidelines for around five-weeks prior to the World Cup break.
But he paid tribute to those around him for keeping him motivated and focussed throughout his recovery.
The Scotland international replied: "It was really tough, it was a hard period. But I had a lot of good people around me to keep me level headed and keep me working hard. I want to thank them for that too.”
About the game itself, he continued: "That’s what we’ve been about for 18-months now. We don’t want to get frustrated, a lot of teams will sit in their block and block the game up.
“It’s important that we stick to the structure and stick to what gets us success. The manager is really big on that.
“I think now you can see that, there’s no panic and we just keep trying to play down the sides, get little cutbacks and we get our rewards in the end.”
