Celtic captain Callum McGregor smirked when he was told the fan nickname for his 'CalMask' as he updated the support on his recovery.
The Scotland international suffered two fractures in a cheekbone at Alloa just 11 days before the derby triumph over Rangers.
He donned the protective gear to lead the side out at Parkhead and impressed in the comfortable 3-0 victory over Rangers.
Speaking to Celtic TV, he was asked about how he's feeling after playing with the injury.
McGregor said: "It's fine and I'm feeling good.
"It seems to have been strong enough to get through the game and I've been recovering well, so there are no issues so far."
When it was put to him that fans had been calling his protective equipment the 'Cal Mask' and if he thought it would catch on, he laughed: "I think it might.
"You know what these social media trends are like.
"Hopefully I don't need it for too much longer, but everyone can have a bit of fun about it just now. Hopefully it does its job and I'll be alright."
The skipper also sent a message to the dressing room after reaching top spot in the Premiership, insisting they have to keep their standards high against Motherwell on Sunday.
He continued: “You produce a good performance and now people will be looking at us and thinking, ‘can they go again.’ And all these questions are going to be asked of us between now and the end of the season.
“So we have to respond properly as a group by staying humble and keep working and keep getting better.
“From here on in, it’s so important to try and produce the same level of performance and if we can get even better, that’s the challenge for us now.
“We’ll continue to play our football, be relentless and we pick up the wins that we need and put ourselves in a good position."
