Callum Hendry bids emotional farewell to St Johnstone and the city of Perth

Callum Hendry has bid St Johnstone an emotional farewell.

The forward, who arrived at McDiarmid Park in 2017, has signed for English League Two side Salford City.

He played a key role in keeping Saints in the Premiership by bagging nine goals - including one in the relegation play-off - since returning in January from a Kilmarnock loan spell.

Hendry said: “I would just like to thank St Johnstone for everything they have done for me since I came up here in 2017.

“Plenty of highs and plenty of lows but I came up as a boy trying to follow his dream after some horrific injuries and Saints helped turn me into a man who is now achieving those dreams.

“So the biggest thank you to the gaffer, coaches and most importantly the fans who have supported me from day one.

“From the bottom of my heart I will forever be indebted to this club and the city of Perth.”

Yesterday, Saints manager Callum Davidson welcomed new arrivals in experienced defender Andrew Considine and versatile winger Drey Wright.
