Calls For South Korean President's Resignation Grow Amid Protests

Police officers stand guard in front of the National Assembly in Seoul, South Korea,

Demonstrators gathered Wednesday morning outside South Korea’s National Assembly to demand the resignation of President Yoon Suk Yeol. The crowd of around 100 people chanted, “Arrest Yoon Suk Yeol” and “Trash Yoon Suk Yeol,” and called for his impeachment and removal from office, according to producers at the scene.

There are growing calls for the president to step down after he declared martial law late Tuesday. The president lifted the measure hours later after lawmakers unanimously rejected his decree.
