Firebugs have torched a piece of equipment at a Paisley primary school.
Police are investigating the heartless incident which saw a gazebo at the town's West Primary set alight and subsequently destroyed by the reckless vandalism.
The incident happened after school hours on Friday, October 28 around 5pm.
School staff witnessed the burning gazebo but, by the time they got to it, the creation had been destroyed.
Paisley police say that an investigation is underway.
Constable Alex Marshall said: “We are investigating an incident of wilful fire-raising of a gazebo on the school grounds at West Primary School, Newton Street, Paisley.
“On Friday, October 28 at 5pm, school staff attended and discovered the burning gazebo but it was already destroyed by the fire, thereafter, they contacted police.
“We went out and raised a report. The investigation is still in its early stages.”
