Calling all dancers to the Tiger Lane floor

Tiger Lane is known for two things - its food and its LED entrance floor.

And while the focus is usually on the food, this weekend it's the floor that's attracting Canberrans as the first dance competition is held over its light up surface.

Hosted in conjunction with Project Beats Dance Studio, Canberra's only dedicated street dance school, Tiger Style will be an electrifying showcase of talent and style.

Whether you're an experienced dancer, you love to move, or you simply want to watch, this is the event you won't want to miss. Best of all, it's free for dancers and spectators alike.

Dancers should get ready to battle it out in their chosen dance style in a series of one-on-one battles, competing not just for bragging rights, but for a share in some incredible prize packs from Tiger Lane.

"We've wanted to host a dance event in Tiger Lane ever since we opened and realised how many kids love dancing on our LED entrance floor," Tiger Lane owner Lin Wang says.

"They love the flashing lights on the floor and the surrounding music, so we knew this would be the perfect backdrop to some kind of dance event."

Project Beats Dance Studio is led by Chippy Lo, a dynamic creative director and project manager renowned for blending artistic vision with strategic execution.

Over the last decade Lo has guided the studio through a host of significant achievements.

These include winning a range of local and national competitions, but most notably for representing Australia at the World Hip-Hop Championships in Las Vegas.

"We're so thrilled to be a part of Tiger Lane's Tiger Style dance event - the first of what we hope will be many events in the space," says Lo.

"It's such a vibrant and creative precinct, offering the ultimate backdrop to bring our local community together and show off some amazing talent while we're at it."

Tiger Style is on from 12pm, with dancers taking the floor for about three hours. Registrations open from 11.30am or register online ahead of time at tigerlane.com.au. All participants will also receive a $5 coupon to use at any Tiger Lane venue.
