Call The Midwife star Daniel Laurie is best known for playing Reggie Jackson in the BBC One show, but he's actually related to someone from another BBC programme.
Daniel is actually closely related to one of EastEnders most iconic villains, and might explain why he became an actor.
Daniel is the son of Leslie Grantham, who played 'Dirty Den' Watts in Walford-based soap EastEnders.
Leslie, who passed away in 2018 after battling lung cancer, married Jane Laurie in 1981 and the couple had three sons before they divorced in 2013.
Before landing his part on Call the Midwife in 2017, Daniel - who uses his mother's surname - had also made appearances in Vera and Stella, and Finding Alice.
During Call the Midwife's sixth season, Daniel joined as Reggie - who goes to live with his uncle Fred Buckle after his mother's death.
His late father's acting career saw him play Dirty Den twice, first from 1985 until 1989 then, after his 'death' and resurrection, he returned to Albert Square in 2003 before being killed off in 2005.
Leslie's personal life was blighted by a number of scandals which he later admitted he felt huge remorse over.
In 1966, when he was 19, Leslie tried to rob a taxi driver named Felix Reese in West Germany. A scuffle ensued, and Felix died after being shot in the head.
Leslie claimed the gun had gone off during their struggle and that he did not know the gun was loaded - which would have landed him a manslaughter conviction.
But the jury did not believe him and he was convicted of murder, and sentenced to life in prison, serving his sentence in Britain because he was a soldier, though he was dishonorably discharged following his conviction.
Leslie served ten years in prison, discovering a love for acting while incarcerated, and starring in various plays put on for inmates and for the public.
When Leslie was released in 1977, he trained as an actor and won some small TV roles, before his big break as 'Dirty' Den Watts in EastEnders in 1985.
But he was killed off from the soap following an embarrassing sex scandal that would haunt him for the rest of his life.
In 2004 a Sunday newspaper journalist published webcam photos of Leslie exposing himself and masturbating, and sucking his finger.
He believed he was speaking to a woman called Amanda, but it was an undercover reporter and the erotic photos went viral.
They also claimed he insulted several of his EastEnders cast mates, including Shane Richie, Wendy Richard, Kim Medcalf and Jessie Wallace, and the cast reportedly went on strike until he was disciplined.
