Call The Midwife's Helen George stuns in wedding dress as character Trixie ties the knot

Helen George 's Call The Midwife character Trixie Franklin has finally tied the knot to boyfriend Matthew.

Cameras rolled today in London as beloved character Trixie, who disappeared during series 11 of the show to coincide with actress Helen's real life pregnancy, finally said her 'I do's.

Helen, 38, and co-star Olly Rix made a spectacular bride and groom as they filmed scenes as Trixie and Matthew for the upcoming series of the BBC One drama.

The blonde beauty stunned in a vintage-style wedding gown with a sculpted cowl neckline and a classic veil.

Meanwhile, Trixie's new husband looked dapper in an eye-catching suave ensemble.

The TV star's looked like the real deal as they were pictured gleefully emerging from the London church hand-in-hand while the production camera's rolled.

Helen beamed as she lovingly gazed at her co-star Olly, who plays her character's long-term love interest, Matthew.

The long-awaited wedding comes after Helen was last seen on the BBC series at the end of season 10.

At the end of the last episode in season 10, Trixie made the decision to depart for the time being to care for a loved one in need.

It was a decision that wrote her out for a period of time amid Helen's real-life pregnancy, but thankfully, the actress is back for the next series.

The actress was expecting during production of season 11, and the break allowed her the time to welcome a new addition to her family.

Last December, the actress had her own medical drama when her Christmas bundle – her second daughter, Lark – came a bit earlier than expected.

Helen also has a four-year-old daughter, Wren Ivy, with her former co-star Jack Ashton (who played vicar Tom Hereward). And her second pregnancy was overshadowed by the same disorder she suffered when carrying Wren – intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP), a potentially serious liver disorder.

Helen, who has been working on Call The Midwife for over ten years now, previously told The Mirror: "I didn’t think I’d be there this long – it was definitely just a job I thought would last that summer.

"It’s encompassed such a huge part of my life and so many things have happened to all of us. There have been so many friends that have come and gone.

"I’m actually looking at my mantelpiece as I talk and we have Trixie’s first medical bag.

"When they got rid of their medical bags, I asked to keep mine as it was the first prop I was given on set. It’s a massive part of my life. I’ve been very lucky."
