The best COD MW3 Zombies weapons give you a fighting chance against the FPS game’s fiercest, most relentless enemies. There might not be that many new weapons in MW3, but this is the first time you can actually use MW2’s arsenal against Zombies, since that game didn’t have a supernatural horror mode of its own. There’s also a small selection of new weapons exclusive to Modern Warfare Zombies.
There’s a lot to think about, but we’ve done the hard work, sorted through them all, and picked out the best weapons to use in MWZ.
FTAC Siege
Range and accuracy matter less in Modern Warfare Zombies than in CoD’s other modes, so you can use automatic pistols with much better results – especially if it’s this one. The FTAC Siege gets the job done without hassle, and its smaller size means you have better mobility while you’re trying to flee the undead hordes. At higher upgrade levels, the FTAC Siege can even deal with challenging enemies in the High Threat Zone, and it works well in multiplayer too.
Holger 556
The Holger 556 is a solid choice, an assault rifle with good range and stable recoil – perfect for Zombies and multiplayer in general. With the right upgrades, you can get headshots pretty reliably, which is a nice change of pace from most assault rifles.
PDSW 528
Finally, a good SMG. The PDSW gives you similar mobility compared to the Siege, but with improved firepower and hundreds of rounds to tear through zombie hordes with. Best of all, it’s fast, which is exactly what you want in Zombies mode’s frenetic action.
Explosive Crossbow
The crossbow isn’t always an easy choice, and it comes with high risks. When you put explosive bolts on it, though? It’s fantastic. Aim is much less of a problem, and you can deal with multiple enemies with a single bolt. Once you fully upgrade the explosive crossbow, it almost feels like cheating.
Ray Gun
The ray gun is just as good in MWZ as it ever was and maybe even a little better. It shreds zombies, it obliterates bosses, and it’s excellent in almost every situation. There’s a bit of luck involved in getting it, since it has a random chance of showing up in a Mystery Box. If you do find it or have the option to craft it with a schematic, then make sure to keep it handy.
Gold-rarity weapons
Pretty much any gold weapon you buy in the High Threat Zone’s third tier is worth your time and the 5,000 it costs. As you’d probably expect, these rare weapons are just better than everything else. A gold LMG is the best of the best, if you’re lucky enough to get one, but really, any of them will keep you safe and see you to victory.
