Fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be excited to know that the popular shooter is arriving on Xbox Game Pass on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The rumors that the game is coming to Xbox Game Pass first surfaced when a report earlier this month claimed that it would be coming to the subscription service this July. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is the latest mainline entry in the franchise.

It is also developer Activision's reboot of the Modern Warfare sub-series of the games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was able to improve upon the same multiplayer system available in its predecessor added new maps and implemented some tweaks, according to IGN
The initial report of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 coming to Xbox Game Pass was made by Insider Gaming earlier this month. However, they were not able to verify an actual release date at the time.
But since then, there have been many sources that supposedly mentioned the date July 24, 2024, and it was first talked about by XboxEra's Sikamikanico. During the XboxEra podcast, he said, "July 24th is the rumor [for a MW3 Xbox Game Pass release."
Leaker eXtas1s also corroborated the release date later on, confirming that it was indeed July 24, 2024.
Shortly after, Jez Corden from WindowsCentral also posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying that the game is coming to the subscription service "very soon," said Insider Gaming.
When Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 debuts on Xbox Game Pass, it will mark the first time that any game in the franchise has been included as part of the subscription service. Many fans are also expecting that the entire series will eventually become available on it.
Coming to Xbox Game Pass
While it is highly unlikely that any other Call of Duty game will come to Xbox Game Pass, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 being added is a good place to start. The news also comes as there have been changes to the subscription service's pricing plans.
Despite many calling the changes making people call the service a "degraded product," it is still a relatively good value plan for people who are looking to play a wide range and variety of old and new games, according to PCGamesN.
This also comes as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, an upcoming game in the franchise, is set to have its early access available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers and those who pre-order it.
The early access will be from Aug. 30, 2024, to Sept. 4, 2024, while the open beta will run from Sept. 6, 2024, to Sept. 9, 2024.
