The next game in the Call of Duty series will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, as confirmed by developer Infinity Ward.
The Modern Warfare sequel is a reboot of the 2009 game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and even shares its name. To differentiate the game from the 2009 edition, the logo features the Roman numeral for 2 (II) in between an M and a W.
A teaser for the game released on Thursday appears to show the logo for Task Force 141, the protagonists of the 2009 game. Writer Tom Henderson, who leaked the game’s title last year, has said that Modern Warfare 2 will be about fighting Colombian drug cartels.
This new game is also a direct sequel to 2019’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which is the most successful Call of Duty game ever.
But when can gamers get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2?
