California Teens Arrested For Posing As ICE Agents, Robbing Latinos

Anaheim Police arrested Laurentiu Baceanu and Vasile Alexandru for impersonating ICE agents.

Two California teenagers, aged 19, were arrested by the Anaheim Police Department for allegedly posing as U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and robbing members of the Latino community in western parts of the country.

The suspects, identified as Laurentiu Baceanu and Vasile Alexandru, were apprehended after a series of robberies where they approached victims, claimed to be ICE agents, demanded cash, and fled in a blue SUV.

Police responded to two connected robberies on June 20, which led to the arrest of the two individuals. An investigation revealed that these incidents were related to similar robberies in the area.

Following the robberies, a blue Audi Q7 SUV was located in Fullerton, leading to the arrest of Baceanu and Alexandru without any issues. They were then booked on several counts of robbery and other offenses and are currently being held without bond.

Authorities suspect that the two men were involved in additional robberies in Anaheim, Orange County, and other parts of the western U.S. Detectives believe there may be more victims beyond those already identified.

During the robberies, the suspects spoke Spanish, presented a badge, and impersonated law enforcement officials. It is also believed that they used different vehicles, including a silver or gray Volkswagen Atlas SUV.

ICE has not yet provided a comment on the matter.
