California has been granted assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to combat the Eaton fire near Altadena, which has now spread to 400 acres in size. Governor Gavin Newsom made the announcement regarding this development.
Additionally, the state has also received a Fire Management Assistance Grant from FEMA to address the Palisades fire, which has grown to over 2,921 acres. These grants are intended to provide support to local fire departments in covering their response costs.
These grants are part of the various resources that the state of California will be receiving from the federal government to aid in the response efforts to these fires. The assistance comes at a critical time as firefighters work tirelessly to contain the blazes and protect the affected communities.
