The Caledonia Gladiators basketball team has appointed Tony McDaid as its first chief executive.
Experienced in basketball as a player, and currently a senior leader within education in Scotland, he joins the club as it prepares for the 2023/24 season and a move to the new East Kilbride Arena.
McDaid has worked with South Lanarkshire Council as executive director of education since 2017.
He also coached the Lady Rocks since 2013, helping develop youth players Emma Kerr, Sally Campbell, Kerry McGhee and Zoe Sharpe.
McDaid said: "I'm thoroughly looking forward to building on the success of last season, getting to know the fans and supporting our owners, Steve and Alison Timoney's ambitions."
He starts the role on 19 June.
