Cala Homes (West) will relocate from its Falkirk headquarters to Glasgow.
As the lease on its current head office at Cairnlee House comes to an end, the team move closer to its core Glasgow and West of Scotland market, taking up residence in the McLellan Works.
The house builder enlisted Glasgow-based commercial property firm Phil Reid Associates, while building owner Bywater Properties was advised by Cushman & Wakefield and JLL.
Around 100 staff will move to Glasgow, as its land team actively seeks more city centre land acquisitions for future sites.
The workforce will relocate to its new 5,700 sq ft site on Sauchiehall Street in a bid to provide greater flexibility, with a blend of home and office working.
Jim McIntyre, managing director of Cala Homes (West), said: “This move creates a real opportunity to strengthen our focus as a West of Scotland business, re-imagine the purpose and profile of our office, and to adapt to new ways of working.”
Dan Mead, head of asset management at Bywater Properties, said: “Refurbishing the final spaces within the building has been made possible by Cala’s commitment and we look forward to announcing the final new tenants to complete the occupancy of our building soon.”
Cala started as the City of Aberdeen Land Association in 1875 and was the first Scottish company listed on the London Stock Market.
Today, the group is a subsidiary of Legal & General Capital, the early-stage investment arm of Legal & General Group.
It employs 1,200 people across nine offices. Preliminary results for the year to 31 December 2021 showed home completions totalling 2,904, resulting in turnover of £1.25bn and pre-tax profit of more than £130m.
