Caitlyn Jenner 'TURNED DOWN' I'm A Celebrity bosses ahead of All-Star series

Caitlyn Jenner entertained millions on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019 but will not be heading to South Africa to join All Stars.

During her time in the Australian jungle, the 73-year-old joined the likes of Nadine Coyle, Myles Stephenson, Roman Kemp and Kate Garraway.

However, the Olympic decathlon legend found herself being eliminated on December 6 and placed sixth on the programme.

It was recently announced by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that a group of famous celebs who have participated will once again put themselves through the infamous Bushtucker Trials – but Caitlyn couldn't commit to the show which was filmed last year.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, a source to the parent-of-six said: "They reached out and her schedule didn't allow for it."

At the time of her initial experience on the ITV programme, it was believed Caitlyn was the highest-paid star of all time, with a fee of around £500,000 for the star.

Following her appearance, Caitlyn opened up about the bond she and her former co-stars made, telling the Daily Star: "It's a tremendous bond, what we went through, you never forget that.

"I'm A Celebrity is about the people, it's not about where they're at. You're in the jungle, it's not easy but the show is about the people.

"Isolated from the world, forced to deal with themselves."

This year, fans will see celebrities from over the years leaving their comfortable lives at home and immersing themselves into South Africa's Kruger National Park for the pre-recorded show.

The lineup includes the likes of former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan, Olympian Fatima Whitbread, Carol Vorderman, Paul Burrell, Shaun Ryder, Amir Khan, Jordan Banjo, Phil Tufnell and original supermodel, Janice Dickinson.

Ant and Dec took to Twitter in September last year to confirm the new show would be going ahead as they shared a video on the platform.

"South Africaaaa! That's right, we're filming a very special version of I'm A Celebrity in South Africa, which is coming to your tellies in 2023," they revealed alongside the clip.

"We've got news," Dec added: "It's probably the worst kept secret in television, but we can confirm we're doing a very special series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in South Africa!

"We're here, it's going to be your favourite celebrities from the last 20 years who are going back in to do it one more time."

The special series of I'm A Celebrity is set to air in April on ITV1 and ITVX.
