Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever Jersey Sold Out So Quickly After WNBA Draft

Apr 15, 2024; Brooklyn, NY, USA; Caitlin Clark poses with WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert after | Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa women's basketball star Caitlin Clark was selected with the No. 1 pick by the Indiana Fever in Monday night's WNBA draft, and as anticipated, her selection moved the needle when it came to jersey sales.

In one hour, Fanatics sold out of Clark's No. 22 Fever jersey in XS, M, L, XL and XXL, according to sports media reporter Darren Rovell.

Clark hasn't played a minute of professional basketball yet, and her impact has gone beyond just jersey sales. Clark's anticipated selection on Monday night drove a spike in ticket interest last week. In addition, the WNBA made sure to put Fever games in front of a nationally televised audience, with 36 of the 40 regular season games now slated to be on national TV this summer.

Clark concluded her career at Iowa as college basketball's all-time leading scorer, and was a two-time national player of the year.

Her Steph Curry-like shooting ability will surely have an impact in the WNBA when she takes the floor this summer.
