There’s a new women’s hoops scoring record sheriff in town, and she goes by the name of Caitlin Clark. On Thursday, Clark broke Kelsey Plum’s NCAA scoring record in front of a sold-out crowd, and fans loved that she did it with a from-the-logo shot.
After Clark didn’t break the record against Nebraska just days ago, there has been so much anticipation for her to step into history books. On Thursday, fans didn’t have to wait any longer. Clark launched a sideline shot in the first quarter, and Carver-Hawkeye Arena came unglued. Caitlin — who asked not to make the moment a big deal — kept going as if nothing had happened.

By the end of the first quarter, Clark had 23 points (WILD STUFF — she was feeling it), but all fans could think of was her incredible shot. Here’s how fans reacted to her incredible historic milestone:

99.9 percent of men’s players aren’t even making this shot and this is a routine shot to her. The physicality and length would obviously get to her, but I am positive she could at least put up 10 to 15 a game in men’s basketball. She’s unlike anything we have seen. https://t.co/wXAOWXmGnC
