A café owner receives hundreds of calls a day by people believing he is Google.
Djamel Ait Idir runs an Algerian food spot in Brixton, South London, and gets unwanted calls at all hours because his business number was wrongly listed on the search engine.
Users typing in “How do I contact Google Business UK?” are given his number by mistake.
And while he dares not turn off the phone in case he misses bookings, he said frustrated callers will sometimes get abusive.
The 51-year-old believes it could be due to him volunteering as a Google business case study a couple of years ago.
He told The Sun : “I can’t take any more.
“I’ve spent years trying to get Google to help me.
“People get abusive if I put the phone down. I can’t help them.”
Djamel said Google assured him it was trying to find the "best resolution".
Wrong numbers aren't always such a pain, as Jade Scott and Matthew Newman found when they accidentally contacted each other and ended up getting married.
Jade Scott was baffled after she started to receive random Snapchat messages to her new mobile from someone she didn't know.
A friend then spotted a mystery man's face had appeared on her WhatsApp profile photo - prompting her to do some digging.
Jade, 32 - who had recently got a new phone number - swiftly realised it was someone who was using her old digits.
She then sent a message to her old one and then started chatting to the new owner of it - Matthew, 34.
Weeks earlier he had made a split-second decision to switch his number - a decision that shaped both of their lives forever.
Within five days the pair met up for a coffee after striking up an unlikely friendship and then romance before he popped the question.
The Mirror has contacted Google for comment.
