Cadbury finally unveils official flavours of its mystery chocolate bars

Earlier this year, Cadbury's sent thousands of chocoholics across the country into a spin by launching two brand new chocolate bars with mystery flavour fillings.

The new launch sparked a debate between fans on social media, as many of them tried to guess the correct flavours to be in with the chance of winning mystery prizes worth up to £5,000. Fans who tried the chocolate bars out were asked to submit their thoughts on the official flavours online, with the promise that those who correctly guessed would be in with the chance of winning the cash prize.

And, if you have been waiting to find out if your taste-buds were up to the challenge, then Cadbury has officially ended the suspense by confirming what the flavours were - and they are bound to be popular.

More than 300,000 people took part, with many providing answers from Turkish Delight and Rose to Bubble gum and Pear Drops. But, as it turns out, the first chocolate bar is officially Rhubarb and Custard, while the second is Blue Raspberry Slushie.

Out of the thousands that took part in the taste-buds tantalising test, only 6,861 people guessed the flavour of the two bars correctly. These clever chocolate sleuths have now been entered into a draw to win stellar prizes. Two lucky winners will then receive their prize following the draw, reports The Mirror.

Pippa Rodgers, Cadbury Brand Manager said: "We have been blown away by the widespread excitement and conversation around the Cadbury Mystery Bars competition.

"It has been difficult trying to keep the flavours under wraps over summer, so we are delighted to be revealing the flavours to the nation and can’t wait to hear how excited our two lucky prize winners are!"

People from London submitted the highest number of correct guesses, with people from Birmingham and Manchester in joint second place.

In a bid to correctly guess the chocolate bar flavours, many fans submitted unusual suggestions throughout the competition. These included Bakewell Slice, Rosewater, Gooseberry and Knickerbocker Glory.

Some even suggested that one of the mystery ingredients could be pink chocolate mice, a childhood staple for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Throughout the six month flavour challenge, Cadbury teased fans by releasing clues on social media to help these chocolate sleuths crack the mystery.

If you want to give the chocolate bars another taste now the flavours have been officially revealed, then you're in luck, as Cadbury's Mystery bars are still available in stores nationwide while stocks last.
