Cadbury finally announces mystery bar flavours - after months of guessing

The launch of Cadbury's mystery flavour chocolate bars sparked lively debate on social media this summer, as chocolate fans were challenged to tickle their taste buds and guess the flavour to be in with a chance to win mystery prizes worth £5,000.

The puzzling flavours have now be revealed by Cadbury, and they are likely to have broad appeal. The first flavour is rhubarb and custard, while the second is blue raspberry slushie. Two lucky winners will receive their prizes following the draw.

More than 300,000 people took part in the palate-testing competition, but many failed to hit the right note, as only 6,861 people guessed the flavour of the two bars correctly. These clever chocolate sleuths have now been entered into a draw to win stellar prizes.

Pippa Rodgers, Cadbury Brand Manager said: "We have been blown away by the widespread excitement and conversation around the Cadbury Mystery Bars competition.

"It has been difficult trying to keep the flavours under wraps over summer, so we are delighted to be revealing the flavours to the nation and can’t wait to hear how excited our two lucky prize winners are!"

People from London submitted the highest number of correct guesses, with people from Birmingham and Manchester in joint second place.

In a bid to guess the mystery ingredients, some people offered up quite unusual suggestions throughout the competition.

Suggestions for bars’ flavour included some traditional pudding flavours such as apple crumble, Bakewell slice.

Meanwhile, others offered up some more outlandish ideas, including rosewater, pear drops and Turkish Delight.

Some chocolate fans even suggested that the mystery flavour could be pink chocolate mice, a childhood staple for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Others could taste blueberry muffin, bubblegum, black forest gateau and knickerbocker glory.

Throughout the six month flavour challenge, Cadbury teased fans by releasing clues on social media to help these chocolate sleuths crack the mystery.

If you haven't tried the mystery flavours yet, do not panic. The Cadbury Mystery Bars are still available in stores nationwide while stocks last.

Now you know the mouth-watering flavours, give them a try before they disappear.
