CAB seizes former council house from Dublin gangster with €250,000 interior including hot tub and bullet proof windows

The Criminal Assets Bureau has seized a luxuriously decorated former council house worth €250,000, from a notorious Dublin gangster.

It has emerged that the lavishly decorated three-bed house on Casement Drive, Finglas, north Dublin belonged to convicted armed robber Jason Boyle.

Boyle, who has served a 10 year stint behind bars for armed robberies in the UK was released in 2011 and according to CAB, relied solely on social welfare for income.

Despite Boyle’s modest income, alongside the luxurious pad, a high-powered Audi worth €47,000, €72,000 in cash and an apartment in Sunny Beach in Bulgaria were also seized.

The exterior of the dwelling looks like a typical Irish council house, however, RTE cameras entered the property on Thursday morning and revealed the true value of the gangster’s ‘paradise’.

Boyle, who has previously spent €17,000 on dental work in the past is a clear fan of the high life and put €40,000 into extending the home.

He also pumped thousands into plush fittings such as built in music speakers, a state of the art CCTV system, a jacuzzi, sauna and bulletproof windows worth €20,000.

The ground floor bathroom has a sauna, a hot tub, twin sinks and a jet shower which sprays water from all angles.

In the main bathroom there is a large bath with a flat-screen TV and an ironic poster of gangster Scarface.

The kitchen is fitted with state of the art appliances and a pricey granite island, while a massive white leather corner sofa faced on to a 65” TV.

The master bedroom had a flat-screen TV, surround-sound and an en-suite bathroom.

Alongside a guest room, the third bedroom was converted to a walk-in wardrobe where among other clothes Boyle kept 44 pairs of runners.

Boyle lived in the house for the last six years, and was a known criminal in the community.

CAB were alerted to his wealth by a local asset profiler.

The Bureau originally took possession of the house on Monday 12 August under Section 3 of the Proceeds of Crime Act but were initially granted the order in the High Court on 23 February 2018.

RTE reports that the house is now being valued and, if Dublin city council has no need for it, will be sold on the open market.
