It is not all bad news for the Cleveland Browns, who are trending toward being without their starting quarterback this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. After leaving the game with an injury against the Baltimore Ravens and getting tagged with a day-to-day designation, center Ethan Pocic returned to practice on Wednesday.
In his absence, Nick Harris stepped in against the Ravens, a player with starting experience. If Pocic has a setback this week or has to exit again, Harris will be back up to take his place.
Who knows which quarterback will be taking snaps from Pocic, however, as Deshaun Watson is still not practicing for the Browns. If Watson cannot go, then the Browns are expected to start practice squad quarterback P.J. Walker against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
While the Browns are beat up now, they are getting some key pieces back with 12 games still to play after this week. It appears they are playing the long game.
