Butler County Authorities Informed Secret Service Of Security Concerns

USC denied valedictorian speech due to security concerns.

Authorities in Butler County have revealed that local police were unable to secure the building where the shooter positioned himself to target former President Donald Trump. Butler County District Attorney Ronald Goldinger shared on Wednesday that there was a lack of manpower within the local police force to adequately protect the area.

Goldinger, although not directly involved in the situation, was briefed on discussions between Butler authorities and the US Secret Service. It was communicated that the local resources were insufficient to secure the building where the gunman had positioned himself.

The district attorney, who oversees the county Emergency Service Unit (ESU), mentioned that there was no personnel assigned to be outside in the perimeter and that they were not responsible for the security of that specific location. Goldinger emphasized that the Secret Service had the primary responsibility for the security arrangements.
