A very busy Swansea city centre road full of restaurants and shops is set to be closed for up to a fortnight from 6pm to midnight.
Swansea Council said the closure was being put in place along St Helen's Road to allow the much-driven upon carriageway to be repaired and resurfaced.
The closure will be operational from Monday, February 28, and is part of what the authority has said is its "ongoing commitment to maintain and improve roads" across the city.
Signs have been placed at several locations in the road to warn people of the upcoming disruption.
A spokesman for Swansea Council said: "St Helen’s Road will be closed during these times while the carriageway is repaired and resurfaced. The work is timed to minimise disruption to traffic, residents and businesses and there will be diversions in place while it takes place.
"It is part of our on-going commitment to maintain and improve roads across Swansea."
It is understood that a 14-day closure has been put in place to allow for weather disruption, but it is hoped that the road will be able to re-open sooner than that.
