Busy Scottish railway line closed after person hit by train

A BUSY Scottish railway line has been closed after a person has been hit by a train.

National Rail has said a person has been struck by a train between Edinburgh and Dunblane/Glasgow Queen Street.

Due to the incident, the travel operator revealed all lines between these stations are currently closed to allow emergency crews to safely attend the scene.

The firm said services running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed, or revised due to the incident.

They also revealed disruption is expected until 12pm.

Meanwhile, ScotRail said emergency teams are dealing with the incident between Falkirk High and Linlithgow.

A ScotRail spokesperson said: "The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Falkirk High and Linlithgow, and services between Edinburgh and Queen Street may be cancelled delayed or revised."

A National Rail spokesperson added: "A person has been hit by a train between Edinburgh and Dunblane/Glasgow Queen Street.

"To allow the emergency services to safely attend the scene, all lines between these stations are currently closed.

"This means that services running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

"This is expected until 12pm."

The British Transport Police and the Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
