Emergency services have rushed to a two car crash in Hamilton this morning, with the road shut down to all vehicles.
The incident occurred jut before 6.30am on the A725 at Whistleberry Road with the southbound carriageway closed by police.
Traffic Scotland confirmed a 42 minute delay to all drivers with traffic very heavy on approach with motorists advised to take alternative routes.

The extent of any injuries is not known at this time.
Police Scotland confirmed they are in attendance at the scene with the vehicles currently being recovered.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Around 6.35am on Friday, 24 March, police were called to a report of a road crash involving two cars on the A725 at Whistleberry Road, Hamilton. Police are in attendance and the vehicles are being recovered."
