Traffic is now building in the area as the aftermath of the crash is cleaned up.

A GMP spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.55am this morning to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Blackburn Road.

"A black Kia Soul and a blue Vauxhall Corsa are involved.

"There are no serious injuries.

"The road will remain closed for Highways to attend and clean up the scene."

In a tweet posted at around 8.20am, TfGM said: "A666 Blackburn Road, Bolton is closed in both directions outside The Lamb Inn.

"This is due to a road traffic collision.
