Busy main road closed after being submerged in water

A busy main road in Merseyside is partially closed after being flooded with water.

According to traffic alert system Inrix, the A5036 Church Road / Dunnings Bridge Road in Litherland is shut in both directions due to burst water main from Park Lane to A5090 Hawthorne Road. A video shared with the ECHO shows part of the road submerged in water.

One resident described the incident as a "nightmare" while another said they "can't even flush the toilet". Sefton council has confirmed United Utilities are at the site and have been since earlier this morning.
