A busy Glasgow railway line has been "closed" after a person has been hit by a train.
National Rail said a person has been struck by a train between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.
Revealing the news shortly after 12pm on Saturday, the rail firm said "all lines between" the two stations have been 'shut' to allow emergency crews to carry out their work.
They also said services between Glasgow Central and Larkhall/Motherwell/Shotts may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
Disruption on the line is expected until around 2pm.
It comes after ScotRail revealed emergency services were dealing with an incident at Uddingston station.
A National Rail spokesperson said: "A person has been hit by a train between Glasgow Central and Motherwell. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines between these stations are closed.
"Trains between Glasgow Central and Larkhall/Motherwell/Shotts may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
