A section of a busy East Lothian coastal path has collapsed due to extreme wind and rain over the past 48 hours.
A section of the footpath at The Glebe, Dunbar, has been closed off by the council, with a warning of further damage due to strong northerly winds and a high tide.
Images shared by the East Lothian Council Countryside Rangers show the path destroyed next to the water during Monday's heavy rain. Edinburgh and the Lothians saw wet conditions last the entire day as several businesses were forced to close early.

"We are in the process of extending the closure but in the meantime please adhere to the diversion and stay well away from the area."
A spokesperson for the council added: "A section of coastal path at The Glebe, Dunbar, has been closed following a landslip. Strong northerly winds & high tide may result in further issues. The council is in the process of extending the closure but in the meantime please adhere to the diversion and stay well away from area."
The short 1.3km path around the edge of Dunbar is popular with walkers, with dozens of locals expressing their concerns on social media after seeing images of the landslide.
