PART of the A9 in Stirling has been closed after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle – and police are urging drivers to avoid the area.
Emergency services were called to Airthrey Road, near Wallace High School, at around 10am on Thursday due to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
The condition of the person involved in the incident is currently unknown.
Police said the road between the roundabouts at Causewayhead and the high school has been closed.
Officers extended the road closure to the roundabout at the University of Stirling.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area.
A police spokesperson said: “The A9, Airthrey Road, in Stirling is closed between the roundabouts at Causewayhead and the high school following a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle around 10am.
“Drivers are urged to avoid the area.”
