An emergency warning for a bushfire that had been threatening lives and homes near Jurien Bay, about 220 kilometres north of Perth, has been downgraded.
The alert was downgraded to a watch and act level on Wednesday night.
The watch and act is in place for people bounded by Indian Ocean Drive and River Loop to the north, Cervantes Road to east and south and the coastline to the west, incorporating the Marine Fields Estate but not the Jurien Bay or Cervantes town sites.
Cervantes is now accessible via Indian Ocean Drive, which has reopened.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said on Wednesday evening that people wanting to travel further north than Cervantes would have to take routes other than Indian Ocean Drive.
DFES said the bushfire was stationary but had burnt through almost 5,000 hectares.
The blaze was reported to authorities about 10am on Tuesday following a lightning strike.
DFES said around 80 firefighters remained on the scene, actively fighting the fire and strengthening containment lines after making significant progress throughout Wednesday.
About 185 homes and businesses in the area are still without power, down from 650.
The evacuation centres in Jurien Bay and Lancelin are now closed, but a new evacuation centre has opened in Badgingarra.
