Two people have been taken to hospital after a bus crashed through two houses on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula.

The bus collided with a cement truck at Safety Beach about 11am on Wednesday, sending it into nearby houses.

More than 10 people were aboard the bus, according to the Country Fire Association.

Two people were inside the truck and no one was inside the houses.

A 17-year-old boy and the 44-year-old bus driver suffered non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Frankston Hospital for treatment.

The 32-year-old truck driver was not hurt and is assisting police.

Footage captured by a news helicopter showed the front of the bus lodged in the roof of a single storey home.

A second house appeared to have been partially damaged and debris was scattered across a garden.
