Arriva bus strikes to continue as latest pay offer overwhelmingly rejected
The Arriva bus strikes will continue after a ballot on a new pay offer was overwhelmingly rejected.

The ECHO has seen the results of the latest vote, which saw 79% of members vote against the latest pay offer from Arriva, understood to be in the region of 9.6%. It means the continuous strikes will continue into a 29th day tomorrow.
The action has been taking place every day since July 20 as drivers and workers fight for a fairer pay deal. During that period there have been no Arriva buses available across the whole of Merseyside.
Alleyway cordoned off after person 'sexually assaulted' in daytime attack
An alleyway was cordoned off after a person was reportedly sexually assaulted.
Police were called to Back Broadway in Norris Green following reports of an allegation of sexual assault on Monday, August 15. The incident was reported to have happened between 1pm and 2pm.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the suspect is described as being in his mid to late 20s, around 5ft 8in tall, medium build and wearing dark clothing. A cordon was in place today at the entrance of Back Broadway off Utting Avenue East and at the other end off Broad Lane.
Drunken yob who took part in mass brawl outside Anfield wanted by police
A man who drank 10 cans before a mass brawl outside Anfield after Liverpool's Premier League title win is wanted on recall to prison.
Jack Stuart Hayes was jailed in March 2021 and handed a seven-year Football Banning Order after disgraceful scenes of violent disorder outside Anfield football ground in July 2020.
Thousands of fans turned up at the stadium to celebrate the triumph, despite being warned to stay at home because of the coronavirus pandemic. Mobile phone footage later emerged showing two groups clashing on Townson Street, next to The Park pub opposite the Kop stand.
