Bus passengers were "showered with glass" when a rock was launched through a window on Monday evening.
Lucy Welch was on the Stagecoach 41 service on Monday evening at around 6.40pm when she was on her way home from work. With three other passengers on the bus, they were all left "shaken" when a rock came hurtling through the side window.
Narrowly missing Lucy's head, the 19-year-old said she regularly gets that bus to and from work in Wirral. She told the ECHO: "We were just sitting there going our normal route, coming out of the Croft retail park when a rock came through the window and smashed all the glass.

"It landed on the floor, it was really scary. We all had to get off the bus while the driver rang the depot and then we got back on and had to sit near the front because there was glass everywhere. He carried on to the depot and I got off at my normal stop.
"Thankfully I wasn't injured, just really shaken up. I've heard stories of other buses being smashed up and bus stops so it's a reoccurring thing going on."
The young woman shared a photograph on social media showing the damage to the side bus window. Urging people to be aware, she added: "What do you get out of this?
"You're scaring the community and scaring people getting on the bus. People will be scared to get on a bus now in case it happens again. I'd say to the people doing this, how would you feel if it was one of your family members on the bus and it happened to your mum or dad?"
A Stagecoach Merseyside spokesperson said the bus has been taken out of service for repairs as they urge anyone with information to contact police.
They added: "This was a highly irresponsible and dangerous act, and it is fortunate no-one was seriously injured. Thankfully, there were no passengers in the seats immediately by the window which was shattered, but two passengers in the area nearby were showered with glass.
"Passengers were able to travel on the next available service and the bus has been taken out of service for repairs. We would urge anyone who can help identify those responsible to contact the police."
