A bus driver is facing jail after admitting hitting and killing a nine-year-old girl while high on drugs.

Martin Asolo-Agogua, 23, was behind the wheel of a double decker bus when he crashed into Ada Bicakci and her five-year-old brother in Watling Street, Bexleyheath.

Both children were rushed to hospital after the horror crash at just after 9am on August 3 last year, but Ada died from her injuries two days later.

At Woolwich crown court on Tuesday, Asolo-Agogua, from Nunhead, pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drugs.

He has been warned a prison sentence is now inevitable.

After her death, police said Ada, a Turkish-British national who lived locally and went to school in the area, was a keen gymnast and swimmer.

Her family have said that following her death, Ada's organs were donated to help six other children.

The court heard Asolo-Agogua had not slept the night before the crash, and had been taking cannabis.

He was released on bail by Judge Ben Gumpert KC until a sentencing hearing on June 9.

More than £14,000 was raised in Ada’s honour after her death, when the family posted the message: “We have been hit and shattered into pieces, one became six, living in new places.

“Thanks are not enough to show our gratitude. We’ll honor Ada with acts of magnitude.

“The funds will support those who helped us through, from emergency services to our hospital too.”

Asolo-Agogua has been handed an interim driving ban until the sentencing hearing.
