Bus driver loses tooth in unprovoked attack - police now want to speak to this man

A bus driver lost a tooth following an unprovoked attack in Wigan .

Police have launched an investigation into the assault, which happened onboard a Diamond North West bus in the Atherton area on Wednesday (April 5). The incident led to the cancellation of the 132 service this morning.

GMP have since released an image of a man they wish to speak to. In a statement, the force said: “We need help identifying this hooded man after a bus driver was assaulted in Atherton early this morning. The unprovoked attack saw the driver lose a tooth and we're keen to speak to the man pictured.”

A spokesman for Diamond North West said: “We can confirm that a driver was physically assaulted this morning. We have obtained CCTV and this has been passed to the police for their investigation. Unfortunately, this resulted in a cancellation to service 132 this morning.”
