Bus bursts into FLAMES after leaving Glasgow as passengers evacuated

A BUS which left Glasgow came to a standstill when it burst into flames during its journey.

A Megabus service bound for Aberdeen was evacuated on the A90 near Brechin on Sunday evening.

An image shared on social media shows flames erupting from the vehicle while parked cars and onlookers wait nearby.

Tayside Police had confirmed that they were called to the scene and the road had been closed while fire crews dealt with the blaze.

There are no reports of any injuries.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 4.48pm on Sunday, 29 January, to reports of a bus on fire on the A90 northbound near Brechin.

"Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and crews extinguished the fire.

"There were no reported casualties and firefighters left the scene once ensuring the area was made safe."
