Bury men charged over alleged county line drugs ring

Eight men are due to appear in court over an alleged county lines ring operating out of Bury.

The men were arrested on Wednesday in a series of raids across the town.

It was part of a on-going investigation dubbed Operation Revoke into alleged drugs supply and organised crime in the Moorside area of town.

Hassan Hussain, 33, of South Bank Road, Bury; Asam Hussain, 29, also of South Bank Road, Bury; Nasir Ali, 30, of Whitburn Drive, Bury; Shakar Ali, 24, of March Drive, Bury; Ali Akbar Azam, 33, of Parkhills Road, Bury; Mohammed Shah Ahmed, aged 27, of Braemar Drive, Bury; Waqas Ullah, 32, of Bury Road, Radcliffe and Tusif Hussain, aged 32, of Wilson Street, Bury have each been charged with two counts of conspire to supply cocaine and heroin and money laundering.

They were all due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday. Speaking after the arrests Supt Arif Nawaz said: "Operation Revoke is a key example of how we are working with partners to make a real difference to communities across Greater Manchester.

"We're continuing to be relentless in our pursuit of serious and organised crime. I want to take this opportunity to encourage the public to continue reporting drug activity so we can take action and make Bury an even safer place to live and work."
