The Bury Beer Festival is set to return this weekend, after a three year break due to the pandemic. Happening at The Met theatre and arts venue, it’ll be welcoming in a host of great breweries all showing off their work.
Pitching up for the weekend-long event will be the Brewsmith microbrewery from Ramsbottom, Brightside from Radcliffe, Bury’s own Deeply Vale, Bolton’s Northern Monkey, Rivington, Salford’s Strange Times and Red Rose from Lancashire.
Those less inclined towards the grain can head for the grape instead, thanks to Bury wine merchant Kwoff, or instead to the cider bar, which will be serving a range of local ciders and perries.

Both nights will feature DJs and live entertainment from a line-up including Flat Cap 2, while food will be taken care of by Bury cafe and cocktail bar Automatic, which will be working out of the venue’s upstairs bar.
The festival, which is also a registered charity, is the culmination of Bury Beer Week, which is happening at pubs and venues across the town. “We’re so pleased that the beer festival is back after a very long wait!” said The Met’s CEO Victoria Robinson.
“We’re really looking forward to welcoming beer fans back to The Met – the perfect space for the festival. Once again, we’ll be working with local brewers and businesses to give beer fans a choice of fantastic ales and ciders and many local bars will also be joining in the fun. This year we’re delighted to receive so much support from a record number of sponsors and we would like to extend our warmest thanks for their invaluable support.”
The festival happens on November 11 and 12, the Friday and the Saturday, from 12pm until 6pm. TIckets cost £7 or £6 to members of CAMRA or The Met.
