Burton duo's injury latest as Brewers give verdict on Bolton Wanderers' recent transfer business

Burton Albion duo Deji Oshilaja and Jonny Smith are touch and go to play Bolton tomorrow evening while Wanderers 'spent their money well' in the January transfer window.

That's the view of Burton assistant boss Dino Maamria.

Wanderers are 10th in the table as things stand and could narrow an eight point gap to the top six with victory tomorrow evening over the Brewers at the Pirelli Stadium.

Bolton's form has coincided with a successful January transfer window, with the likes of Dion Charles, Marlon Fossey, Aaron Morley, Kyle Dempsey, James Trafford, Kieran Sadlier and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson all arriving at Wanderers.

Maamria believes that Wanderers made some good decisions in the recent window, as the Brewers will attempt to nullify Bolton's threats.

He told the club website: “They had a very good January window, they spent their money well and strengthened in the right areas.

"I watched their game against Oxford back, it was a very good game from both teams. We know they have great players with good experience, but it isn’t about them, it’s about what we do tomorrow and how we respond from Saturday.

“We need to put in a good performance, try to nullify their threats and then we can capitalise on their weaknesses.”

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson will miss the encounter owing to concussion, while Maamria said Smith and Oshilaja will have late checks before deciding on their availability for the encounter.

He said: "With Jonny it is touch and go, as well as Deji who is also touch and go. We will wait to see how they are tomorrow and then we will take it from there.”

“Cameron has got a concussion so he is out for another five days. He got a knock on the head last game, so he will be out and will return later this week. He is doing ok.”
