Burst pipe leaves neighbours without water

Neighbors in one area of Merseyside have been left with no water after a pipe burst.

Residents surrounding Bridgend Drive Ainsdale, off the Kenilworth road have reported having no water, or low water pressure. A video taken by Laura Miles shows water streaming out of the embankment onto the residential street.

The video which was posted to Facebook shows the water flooding onto part of the pavement and halfway up the street. One resident said: "Is this the reason we have no water in the Westminster Drive Area."

United Utilities have been alerted to the problem and are currently in the area investigating the issue. However, a timeframe has not been given for when the issue will be resolved.

A United Utilities spokesperson said: “We are aware of a burst in the Ainsdale area this afternoon that is impacting water supplies to some customers. Our engineers will be working to rectify the issue as quickly as possible and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
